Why am I getting Configuration Settings Error when trying to log into Quixote?

Configuration Settings

Configuration Settings

1. This is the configuration settings screen. This screen will appear when you are attempting to log in from your workstation if that workstation is not able to communicate with the Qbox. This is a network issue.  A few things that can cause this might be

  • Qbox powered off
  • Power outages
  • Network cable loose/unplugged
  • Your Network connectivity
  • AntiVirus
  • Router

2.  The Qbox is a computer in your office. The Quixote Software was loaded onto this computer and your workstations retrieve the software from this "Qbox."  Hence if your workstation is not able to communicate with the Qbox you will not be able to log in and will see this Configuration Settings screen.

This is not a Quixote Software issue, it is an issue with your network. To resolve this issue please contact your IT person.

This screen will also show if any of the fields are edited or deleted. If the Server or Database fields are missing simply click on the text to the right and the fields will auto populate.

Configuration Settings 2

The Database Username should be seven characters and the Database Password should be twenty two characters if either one of these are incorrect please call Quixote Software so they we can enter these for you.
