Authorization #: The Authorization # will print in Box23 on the HCFA / CMS form.
Note: Quixote Authorization # (tracking) is aanother powerful feature that makes resubmitting
insurance claims a snap. Never worry about which Authorization # will print
on a claim form. Quixote looks at the dates of service and then matches
the correct Authorization #, based on the Begin and End dates.
Add Button: Click the Add button to add an Authorization #
Authorization #: Enter the Authorization #.
Begin Date: Enter the Beginning (effective) Date for this Authorization #. Clicking the box will automatically display today's
date. To change the date, click on the date or use the drop down
calendar.
End Date: Enter the End Date for this Authorization # (Date this Authorization # is no longer valid). Clicking the box will automatically display today's
date. To change the date, click on the date or use the drop down
calendar.
Number of visits: Enter the Number of Visits that have been Authorized (this authorization # is for)
Number of visits used: Enter the Number of Visits already used, if applicable
Click the Save button
Note: This
is a powerful feature of Quixote. The Begin and End Dates and/or Number of Visits eliminates the
need to track the applicable Authorization # per date of service. Quixote
will keep track of the correct Authorization # per date of service
automatically.
Example:
Authorization # 4568 Begins 10/21/2008 and Ends 11/21/2008
Authorization # 32168545 Begins 12/09/2008 and Ends 01/06/2009
All dates of service between 10/21/2008 and 11/21/08 will have
Authorization # 4568
All dates of service between 12/09/2008 and 01/06/2009 will have
Authorization # 32168545
Edit Button: Highlight an existing Authorization # and click the Edit button to Edit an existing Authorization #
Delete Button: Highlight an existing Authorization # and click the Delete button to Delete an existing Authorization #
